Barcelona is really somewhere that offers everything. You can have a cultural city experience on one hand, with a full on beach on holiday on the other. At one point it was quite an expensive city, but with the influx of hotels over the last few years it has become one of the most affordable major cities in Europe.
Having travelled to Tenerife over 10 times I have seen its transformation into a true luxury destination.
New York is a magical city. I visited for the Thanksgiving Day parade in November, a must do if you are visiting at the end of the year.
Quite possibly my favourite of all the Christmas Markets, it has everything and is really easy to get around. The only snag being it is quite difficult to get to, either a connecting flight through Dusseldorf or Munich, or by train from either Prague, Berlin or Leipzig.
One of the most vibrant cities in Germany, and one of the most interesting experiences in Europe. A must visit for anyone looking for a cultural city break.
Cologne has one the best Christmas Markets in Germany, something that you must try at least once. It's also the starting point for many River Cruise holidays, and a great start or finish to a nice relaxing cruise.
One of the most compact cities in Italy. It offers so much including interesting day trips to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa, or Sienna.
Having visited Earth Lodge in the Sabi Sands, and Jocks Lodge, I can tell you that a safari is one of the most special experiences you are ever likely to encounter.
Cape Town is one of those cities you can make a whole holiday out of. There are so many attractions and destinations within driving distance to keep yourself occupied. I stayed at both the Twelve Apostles and the Vineyard.
I have just got back from the home of Dutch pottery. A great alternative to Bruges, and accessible either by train or plane, with the town being close to either Schiphol or Rotterdam airports.
One of the very best city breaks in Europe, and somewhere different to boot. I loved the laid back, but let stylish city and has one of the best shopping streets in Northern Europe. It isn't as expensive as you think either, especially now there are 8 daily flights from Luton.
One of the most laid back cities in Europe, the Dutch capital has a huge amount to offer and is incredibly accessible.
Romantic, atmospheric, beautiful. There are just not enough adjectives to describe Venice, and is a must visit.
Compact Christmas Market set in an older part of the city, great to combine with a smaller market if getting the train or visiting somewhere like Heidelberg.
Absolutely loved my visit to Seville last Easter, yes the rates are more due to the amount of festivals they have going on in the city and believe me it gets really busy. I would advise going in the winter as the summer is extremely hot, and you still get lovely pleasent weather, just right for exploring cities.
One of the most inspiring cities in the world, which has been revitalised over the last few years. With historial sites and amazing restauarants, Athens is a must visit for any time of year.
I absolutely loved the time I spent in Nafplion. The small Venetian town has narrow cobbled streets with many tavernas and independant shops which can easily occupy your evening. You might even want to climb to the castle on top of the hill for even better views over the bay.
With a wealth of knowledge of the airline industry around the world I have been given the title of 'Mr Aviation'. From the various low cost options worldwide, to the latest product innovations that enhance flying in the premium cabins, I can help plan your journey and advise on maximising value for money.
I am a doer. Beach holidays really are not for me, I really do like to explore the world's most exciting cities. Sound like you, then talk to me about your next city holiday.
