As a travel agent we work with some of the best tour operators in the business. The ones we work with all have an ‘Air Tour Operators Licence’, protecting your money in the event of a failure, taking the stress out of booking a holiday.
That protection is there no matter how you pay for your holiday – you could pay by cash, cheque, bank transfer, debit card – anything, your money is covered. If you want to pay on a credit card as you get ‘protection’ on that, as we charge a 2.75% fee for doing so, you are effectively paying twice.
In light of the Low Cost Travel Group entering administration yesterday, we would highlight that as a travel agent we don’t ‘dynamic package’ (a fancy term for self-packaging holidays ourself). We only use reputable tour operators, many of whom we have worked with for over 20 years and would recommend, even if they are slightly more expensive.
If you do put together your own holiday, especially in the market this summer which has seen an trend of heading to ‘safe’ destinations like Spain, Portugal and Italy, availability is scarce and rebooking could be difficult and or more expensive. You could then be left in a situation where flights are booked, and you can’t find somewhere to stay.
Not only that, in the event that one of our tour operator partners do fail, we are here to help you. We are your first point of call and will do everything to make sure you have a wonderful holiday.
